Day 138

 

Madison was our Rock Star today and she shared her favourite place to be is the beach.  She likes to play in the sand with her mom and dad.  These pictures are from when she was in Hawaii. But one picture is from a lake. 

Friday is always fun for a little iPad time!!

We finished our Lorax pictures!

We played a math dice game.

This seed is giving us all the goodness that we have been learning about.  We love it!! You can see the seed coat, the embryo, the root, the food storage and the stem!! Sooooo COOL!

Our plants are nicely growing and ready for the long weekend!

Day 137

 

This morning our Rock Star was Arielle.  Arielle wrote: Where is this place? Imperial, Saskatchewan. Why is it special for you? It’s special to me because I get to see my yaya(grandma) and papa ken and nana(auntie em) and spend time in the pool. What are some of your favourite things to do in this space? Spend time with family and of course go SWIMMING!!!!

In the afternoon our Rock Star was Grayson.  Grayson shared that he loves to go to his grandparents cabin in the mountains in BC. He learned to ride his bike without training wheels.

Today was a FULL day!  I am so impressed with how much we got done today.  It was tight and the afternoon didn't finish but tomorrow we will finish the rest.  

In the AM the kids had music and played with the boomwackers.  They are learning to follow the colours and read music. 

We worked on our poem and went for an AND hunt in the Earth Day song.

We read The Lorax and drew our own Lorax.

Our AM class finished their entire page but our PM class we added a coloured background so they will finish tomorrow.

Just a reminder that tomorrow is PJ Day for our PM crew 

Day 136

 

After we watched the movie we brainstormed different ways that we saw the characters in the movie being perseverant.

We broke the movie up into little chunks and also did some work.  Today we reviewed the parts of the seed and looked a little more at the roots of our plants.  We learned that there are many different types of roots.  Our two favourite roots are the main roots and the root hairs.  The big roots job is to keep the plant safe and secure within the soil but the small tiny roots have an important job. The hair roots grow and look for water to nourish the seed.

Tomorrow is Earth Day and popcorn snack day.
