Day 176

In the morning our Rock Star was Lennon.  Lennon shared her passion for music.  She sings, plays guitar and the drums.  Her favourite song is I love Rock and Roll.

In the afternoon we had TWO Rockstars.  Malin and Hazel did a fantastic job sharing the role of Rock Star duties.

Malin could not decide on one passion, hobby or interest she wanted to share.  She made a big list and narrowed it down to her top two:

1. Reading: 

1. Malin loves reading every day.  She reads all kinds of books:

1. Her Frozen book has a flashlight that makes the pictures glow. 

2. She also has a Leapfrog Pen that helps her read special books if she doesn’t know a word.  

3. And she can read all her Peppa books all by herself without help.

2. Our new camping spot:  there is a Beach and Boats!  

1. Boats: Malin was so excited to try the paddle boat for the first time.  “I pedalled it all by myself.”  Next she wants to go in the kayak (also all by herself)!  

2. Beach: There is a ton of sand at the beach.  Malin says she loves making the sand muddy and making a river with water that flows into the lake. 

  

Hazel would like to share how much she loves spending time in the garage with her dad. She gets very excited seeing tools and finds super fun helping her dad in his projects.

Today we celebrated with our Mad Scientist Day!  We had LOTS of science experiments.  What science experiment was your child's favourite?

Day 175

 This morning our Rock Star was Lukas.  Lukas shared: This is our campsite in Sundre. Lukas loves to ride his bike, play on the monkey bars at the park, build “base camps” in the trees and explore.

In the afternoon our Rock Star was Isa. 

We also celebrated Graysons summer birthday today!  Happy Kindergarten Birthday Grayson!!

Today we released more butterflies.  We only have one left in our classroom and that one only hatched during lunch hour between the AM and PM class.

One butterfly landed on our friend Logan.  He sat so still until the butterfly few away.

This morning before school started each teacher placed a large rock around the structure. 

This morning our AM class was the first group of children to put down their rocks.

In the afternoon our PM friends were the last children to place their rock.

Day 174

 This morning our Rock Star was Logan.  Logan's passion is modeling clay. He says he loves it because it lets him create stuff and use his imagination. The ones pictured are air-dry clay. He loves spending time making weird and funny caricatures and items.

Today we said good bye to some of our butterflies.  It was lots of fun as we watched them fly away.  Some of them stuck around for a while for one last goodbye and that was SUPER EXCITING!  

We drew a picture of a butterfly from our imagination.

 

Can you believe that we are heading into the last week of Kindergarten? I still remember the first week and these little kiddos have come so far.  I am incredibly proud of each and every one of them.  We  are trying to make the last week as fun and exciting as possible to celebrate a year that has been like no other yet keep it as simple as possible for parents.

–      Sending home our Math, Journals and Poetry Books

 

Tuesday, June 22

-       Mad Scientist Day

-       We have put together some fun experiments for the kids

-       Sending home the colouring tools

 

Wednesday, June 23

-       Secret Mission Day

-       Come dressed and ready to complete secret missions (costume day)

-       We will be working towards completing the missions and if we are successful they will receive a frozen treat from the office

-       Rapid testing for anyone who signed the form

-       Sending home Visual Journals

 

Thursday, June 24

-       Farewell with Flair!!!!

-       We will be exiting the school 15 minutes early with music and matching hats

-       As we say good bye to each child they will receive their Kindergarten certificate and we will pause for pictures

-       We have put together a photobooth for the kids and parents

-       Virtual ceremony will be posted

-       Dress for pictures J
