Happy Friday!!!  This was the beautiful view from our classroom this morning. :)

This morning we had a little iPad time which was fun to explore all of the learning apps on our school iPads.  We also reviewed the letter Ss.  Spider starts with S.  We made a Spiderweb and Spider for Ss week.

First we did a guided drawing of a spider web in our learning pit.

Then, we went over our spiderwebs with black crayon.

Next, we painted our web different colours.  Our goal was to not have any of the same colour touching.

Last we drew a spider and cut 8 legs.

I love how all of our little SSSSSpiders turned out!

New Brighton School will be hosting a Great Pumpkin Event this year! It will take place Friday October 29th. For this event, students and their families are encouraged to decorate a pumpkin to be displayed on the school compound. The pumpkins can be any variety of types from the largest, smallest, most traditional, scariest or the funniest. All pumpkins will be judged; in one of the following categories: scariest, funniest, scene, “it’s not a pumpkin” pumpkin and lastly decorated, not carved. Students can bring their pumpkins to the back compound area along the school wall to be put on display for all to see the wonderful artistry! Friday morning classes will come out to view and judge them as they go outside for recess. We would ask that all pumpkins are taken home after school on Friday. Any pumpkins remaining after school will be thrown out to prevent any messes that may be made over the weekend. This event is intended to have families spend some time together at home in a fun and imaginative tradition. Start thinking of all the ways you and your family can carve a “Great” pumpkin.
