Today we did a really fun art piece for our walls. The afternoon kids are still being put together so once I have them ready I will put them up on the blog as well. It was tricky matching our skin, hair and eye colour but we all worked together to help our neighbours out. I think they turned out super cute.
Important message from Kindergarten teachers:
Today was our last day working on our last major assessment that we will send home this year. Today we did a spelling test and now I will be putting everything together for you and sending it home on Monday. We also started illustrating a very special book that we are creating. Both the AM and PM had PE in the gym. Tomorrow we are doing a super cool art project for our walls as we get ready for our Art Show and Kindergarten celebration.
Today we were busy busy busy. We really started to focus on finger spaces and writing multiple sounds per word and spelling our sight words correctly during our journal. Generating rhymes is pretty tricky. If I say two words that rhyme most kids know if they rhyme or not BUT when I ask them to come up with their own rhyming words this is a little bit more difficult. To help with this we have started singing Down By the Bay. As long as the words rhyme it is ok that the words are made up.
Tomorrow is PICTURE DAY! We will be taking class pictures together. This is my favourite picture of the year. :)
HAPPY FRIDAY!!! Today was SO MUCH FUN! I tried to get all your kids in front of you sorry if I missed a few. I hope that you enjoyed the performance. I took two videos this morning. One from our Kindergarten practice and one from the dress rehearsal. Hopefully, these links work for you. :)

Happy Wednesday! Today we had so much fun at school. We started our day with half sensory bins and half building bins on our tables, we had dance again in the gym which was super fun, we did Cosmic Kids adventures in the classroom, and we practiced spelling our Heart Words on our white paddle boards.
Today we had lots of fun outside with our friends to enjoy the wonderful weather. We played math games and practiced our heart words. We are working on spelling and reading them.

Holy Moly today went super FAST! We were so busy and had a ton of fun! Today we started to celebrate Earth Day. We started by painting a rainbow.
Next, we made an Earth using crayons and magic paint.
Then, we coloured our hands.
New Brighton Students have had the opportunity to work with Sound Kreations. This is a Hip Hop program that the students have participated in during their P.E. Class. Each grade is practicing a dance for a performance on April 21. Technically, only the AM students attend school on Friday, April 21 but we also want to extend an invite to the PM class. If your PM child would like to come to school for the final performance, please drop them off at the regular Friday time (between 8:15 and 8:29am) and then pick them up at the regular time at 11:55am. The kids will get a practice performance in which they will get to watch the entire school before we welcome the parents to come in and watch. Parents are invited to watch the second performance. The doors open for parents at 10:15am and the dance show starts at 10:30. Whenever your Kindergarten child is not in the gym with the school they will be in their regular classroom. Please provide a snack and water bottle for them. They will have a chance for their snack between their practice and their performance.

HAPPY PJ DAY! What a great way to start our week after an extra long weekend! Today we were all comfy and cozy while we wrote about our monthly sacred teaching from the beaver. We learned about making wise choices.

Today we learned how to count up and down from any number. We played a fun dice game to help up practice our new skill. This is preparing us for adding and subtracting. :) We also had fun in PE.
