Day 19

Today we wore Orange to share our support for reconciliation.  We learned a little about how Orange Shirt Day started and why we wear it today. Ask your child what it means to wear orange on September 30. We read the story You Hold Me Up and The Sharing Circle.  Our day focused on being kind to others and that we all want to feel safe and cared for at school.  We had great discussions about how you can show kindness and what it means to matter. For more details on Orange Shirt Day please see https://www.orangeshirtday.org/

First: We sponge painted our background orange.

Next: We colored a picture

Finally: We cut out our hearts and glued them onto our orange back ground.
**We really focused on doing our best coloring and using a variety of colors in our picture.  I am incredibly impressed with how well this page turned out **

***Tomorrow will be our Terry Fox Run.***

Day 18

WE MADE A MESS TODAY!!!! After reading the story Going on a Leaf Hunt, we went outside and went on a search for a variety of leaves.  We tried to find big leaves and small leaves, different shapes and colors and we put the leaves into a paper bag that we had decorated with our names and all the types of lines we know how to make.  When we came back inside we read the story Leaf Man and brainstormed different objects we could make with our leaves.

Just a reminder that tomorrow is Orange Shirt Day

Thursday, October 1 is our Terry Fox Run.
Please bring a toonie for Terry.
