Today we started our ROCK STAR of the day. Due to Covid restrictions our special child of the day will look different. This first round we are celebrating the child by sharing their favourite color, food, activity and their age. The Rock Star also gets to be the line leader and help the teacher around the classroom. Today we had Arielle and Grayson as our Rock Stars! Thanks for doing such a ROCKIN' job!
This week in Investigations we are working on our fine motor skills. Cutting is a great skill to work on. Every day this week we will be cutting and practicing. Ask your child about the proper way to cutting technique.
In Power Up we read the story, The Love Behind the Mask. We learned that when we see people wearing masks its because there is love behind it and our friends, teachers, nurses are not scary because they are wearing a mask. We also learned about different ways to help keep ourselves clean.
Our Power Up activity for this story is actually a two-parter. Today we colored pictures of ourselves and tomorrow we will add some masks.
This afternoon our fire alarm went off. I am 1000000000% impressed with how well the children did during the alarm. They followed instructions and waited patiently in line keeping their space between their classmates and waiting for more instructions. I told them that they were pros at fire drills and acted like grade 3 students. WOW!!!! GREAT JOB KINDERS!!!
