Day 19

Today was Orange Shirt Day.

Today we read Trudy's Stone.  We added our own rocks to our School's Medicine Wheel outside by the parking lot.  Every child over the last few years has added a rock to this garden.

We painted a page in our Visual Journal and coloured a picture in honour of the special day.  The PM crew was VERY rushed because they had music AND they also had an assembly today so they were unable to finish but I am so impressed with how quickly they did everything.

The PM crew participated in their first assembly.  This was not short by any means and they did THE BEST JOB!!!  Each Kinder friend was able to sit for over 45 minutes.  Congratulations to each PM child.  Also, we need to give a HUGE shout-out to Benjamin and Karman who spoke on behalf of all the Kindergartens.  We are very proud of them because they spoke in front of over 600 people today.  Way to GO boys!!!

Have a great long weekend and I will see you on Monday.

Day 18

Our day was all wobbly and twisted around.  We had our welcome circle and calendar, then we read the story, With our Orange Hearts where we talked about Orange Shirt Day and why we want to wear orange shirts tomorrow. After our story, we had snack and centers which is normally at the end of the day.  We had PE in the gym and ended the day with Math OUTSIDE.  We were looking for math in nature.  This was tricky to find at first.  We started by looking for five of one nature object and five of another nature object.  Most kids chose either pinecones, sticks or leaves. After we sorted we made a pattern using nature.  Here are some of our fantastic nature AB patterns.

To finish our lesson we put all our objects together to make a heart for our theme this week of
 Heart to Belong.
