In the morning our Rock Star was Ryan. Ryan’s favourite book is The Night Before Kindergarten. The story is about kids going to their first day of kindergarten. His favourite part of the story is when the parents start crying because they miss their kids.

In the afternoon our Rock Star was Evan. This is Evan with his favourite book. It is about 4 little dinosaurs and one plays tricks on them when they are looking out for the gigantosaurus. His favourite part is when gigantosaurus jumps out of the bushes.

Today was 100's Day of School! We celebrated by learning about the number 100. It is a huge number so we actually broke it down into 10's. We did 10 different exercises 10 times. We painted 10 gumballs 10 times. We each counted to 10 until we got to 100.

For fun using an app, we turned ourselves into 100 years old.

We are 100 Days SMARTER than we were when we started Kindergarten.

 This morning our Rock Star was Maija.  Maija shared her favourite stories. Five Minute Stories for Fearless Girls. This book is full of stories of fearless girls. Maija’s favourite part is the chapter about J. K. Rowling who wrote one of her other favourite stories Harry Potter! There is a mirror on the back page so when she looks in it she can see another fearless girl!

Today was about the Eagle and learning about love.  We made our Eagle page in our visual journal

Alright team we have almost made it through the longest/shortest/most celebrated month EVER!  We had 8 birthdays, Lunar New Year, Groundhog Day, Orange Shirt Day, Valentines Day, Teachers Convention, Family Day, 222 Tuesday, Pink Shirt Day, and now we're are about to celebrate the last day of the month. Monday is the 100th day of school! Yeah to us making it through this year to day 100! Help us celebrate in any way you would like. You can dress like you are 100, wear something to represent 100 (hello 10- 10 frames, a hat with 100 pom poms, or a shirt with the number 100), or just come as yourself and enjoy the day :) 

In the morning our Rock Star was Sadie. She shared her favourite story called “Frozen Christmas Magic”. It’s about Anna and Elsa celebrating Christmas together and having fun. Her favourite part is when they have a snowball fight. I also like the ornaments at the back of the book because they come out.

 

In the afternoon our Rock Star was Maise.  Maisie shared one of my favorite books to read with my own children.  The entire class thought that it was also an amazing book and we highly recommend it.

Today was the perfect day to learn the letter Ll and the number 4.  We also spent some time playing outside with each other.

 This morning our Rock Star was Aleah.  Aleah loves picking different books every night but one of her favourites is 10 Minutes to Bed Little Unicorn. It’s about a little unicorn that gets lost in the forest and follows a rainbow home, her favourite part is how she lives in a land of marshmallow clouds and sugar sand (lol of course the candy is her favourite part 😂)

Today was Pink Shirt Day.  We focused on Kindness and what it looks like when we show kindness to other people and how it feels when people show us kindness.

In our Visual Journals we painted the background pink right away as soon as we got into our classroom.  Then we let it dry.  We brainstormed different ways that we can show kindness and wrote one idea down.  Then we decorated the back page of our journal, coloured a pink shirt and glued everything onto our page. They turned out super cute. :)

 Happy 2/22/22 TWOS Day!!!

This morning our Rock Star was Siena.  Siena shared her favourite story.  She likes Brown Bear, Brown Bear what do you see.  Her favourite part is the purple cat.

In the afternoon we celebrated our last February birthday, February was a busy month for birthdays. Today we celebrated Morgan!  Morgan's birthday was yesterday but we are so happy that we were able to celebrate her with her school friends.

We celebrated TWO's Day in style.  We made some awesome TWOsDay Crowns.

We also made a frog using the number 2 and represented the number 2 in all the different ways we could think of in our visual journal.

Anyday, when we paint, is a good day in Kindergarten.
