This morning we celebrated the birthday boy Gary.  Happy Birthday Gary!! We are super happy we got to spend your special day with you.

This afternoon our Rock Star was Maisie.  Maisie loves Highland Dancing.  She was brave enough to share her favourite dance steps with us and we loved it.

Today was National Indigenous Day.

We had an assembly to wrap up all the sacred teachings and honour Indigenous people. On behalf of all Kindergarten, Maija in our PM class shared about the teachings of the Wise Beaver.

Mrs. Hellyer taught the kinders about what it means to be Metis.  She taught about who the Metis are, the cultural elements of the Metis and what makes Metis people special, unique and important to Canada. 

Mrs. Hellyer shared her personal Acknowledgment of the Land that explained why the land was important to her and her family.

We chose one element from the Medicine Wheel that we most connected with this year.  We could choose Mind, Body, Spirit or Heart.  We wrote our name on the rock and we will add it to the large Medicine Wheel for our school.
