Day 34

Stephanie was our Rock Star today.  She shared her bugs.  The kids loved hearing about how Stephanie makes a course for her bugs and then turns them on to race around.  She told us that the purple bug is the fastest. The kids are beginning to ask great questions for our Rock Star.

This morning we used paint to make the tree branches for our fall tree.  We talked about how trees have a long trunk on the bottom and many long and short branches coming out of the trunk.

After we made the tree trunk we used sponges to dab on the colourful leaves. We started with yellow paint because it is the lightest colour.  Next, we used orange paint and finally we added the red paint to finish our fall tree.

Our Final Product!

We practiced our fine motor skills with some fall tear art.  Using construction paper we tore small pieces of paper and glued them onto the leaf template. When we were done we added a white glue wash over top and some sparkle to shine up the room.

Our Final Product!

In true Calgary fashion, we took a break from our Fall fun to play in the snow.  We used black paper to catch some snowflakes before they fell on the ground and compared how each snowflake is unique.

Have a great weekend!! Stay warm and see you on Monday. :)
