This morning our Rock Star was Marco. Marco wrote: Marco’s favourite vacation spot is in Phoenix, Arizona. He loves to play and swim in the swimming pool all day long. We love to eat pizza in Marco’s pizza place. Because of the warm weather all year long you feel like you are on vacation all year.
In the afternoon our Rock Star was Connor. Connor shared: Where is this place? Fish creek park. Why is it special for you? A place where I like to cool off on summer days and explore the trails with my family. What are some of your favourite things to do in this space? Playing in the river, throwing rocks, looking for wildlife (bald eagle, muskrats, fish)
We got new books in our Classroom Library. We spent some time this morning just looking at the books. The classroom was so quiet and peaceful while the children were checking out the new books. It was pretty awesome!
Every week we will have a new poem to learn and work on our sightwords. This week our poem is about trying our best and not giving up. It is to the tune She'll be coming round the mountain.
We also looked at different seeds and wondered what they needed and what they would turn into. We have decided to try out a few different experiments to grow some seeds and see how they grow the best.
Some kids thought that the seeds just need sun. So we have some that are just in the sun. Some kids thought the seeds needed sun and water. So we have some seeds that are in the water with the sun. Some kids thought that we needed soil, sun, and water. So we have some seeds with soil, sun, and water. Some kids thought a paper towel, water with the sun. So we have some seeds that way as well. We also planted some that will be under the growing lamp with water and soil. Which seeds do you think will grow the biggest and fastest?
